I’m not pleased. 🎬
Moment #003
The film is about to begin. I sit in the last row by myself. Latecomers shuffle in, but they walk past me. I’m pleased—I’d like to keep this row to myself.
Ten minutes in now, I’ve settled into my seat and I’m enjoying the film. Then, the doors swing open, and one last person walks in. Of course she takes the seat right next to me. I’m not pleased.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice her lean forward, and she stays leaned forward. I turn toward her, and she’s waving at me. The darkness doesn’t eclipse the familiarity of her face—it’s an old roommate. Our friendship dissolved almost two years ago. We used to be close.
